For sale is a vintage B David Mother's Crown brooch with aurora borealis rhinstones and pearls.The B David Jewelry Company start in a jewelry shop in Cincinnati, OH in 1945. Mother's Crown brooches were one of B David's specialties and were typically presented as gifts to new mothers. These brooches were pretty cool and we found something cool about them online, part of which read....Mother’s Crown brooches were B David’s specialty. Also called Parent Crowns, these pins were typically presented as a gift to new mothers. The crystals in the crown were individually selected by the purchaser and therefore, no two are identical. The crystals selected often spelled the name of the child by using the first letter of the simulated gemstone. For example, a clear crystal would represent the letter D (diamond), a red crystal would represent the letter R (ruby), etc.We couldn't find a list of what color crystals represented what letters, but it would be cool to know what name was spelled at the top of this Mother's crown brooch.As you can see, this brooch is adorned entirely with aurora borealis rhinestones, outside of the crystals along the top that spell out the name of the child and the small simulated pearls.This brooch measure 2" wide by 1 3/8" tall.It is in excellent condition with no missing crystals/stones or pearls. This item will be shipped in a padded envelope via insured ground advantage with the USPS.
