Description: Vintage Dorner T. Schueler framed watercolor set. - Born in Quincy, IL on Sept. 28, 1904, Schueler moved to California in 1917. After studying at the San Diego Academy of Fine Arts, he worked in San Diego as a commercial artist while painting fine art and exhibiting locally. He remained in San Diego except for 1921-24 when he worked in Los Angeles designing posters for the movie industry. In 1937 he moved to San Francisco where he designed exhibits for the GGIE and continued in commercial art. He later lived in Murphys, CA and taught watercolor classes at Columbia College. Schueler died in Las Vegas, NV on Sept. 26, 1986. - Created from prints of original drawings by Schuler hand painted by the artist with watercolor paint. - From his 1960s Murphys, California, townscape series - Framed and matted with hooks on back ready for hanging - Good condition. Artworks show no signs of age, though there is some wear to wooden frames. However this does give them a true vintage feel - could easily be reframed if you prefer a different look.
