The bulldogs were made of fireclay stoneware with matte glaze in earthy tones in the 1970s and 1980s by gustavsbergsfabriken. The one I am selling is marked as "MIDI:" Height 14cm Width 14cm Length 18cm Dimensions 7.09ʺL x 5.51ʺW × 5.51ʺH Weight ca 760gr This piece has an attribution mark. This Bulldog from her beloved series Kennel is a Scandinavian design classic. Lisa Larson is the best known ceramicist in Sweden. Lisa was born in 1931 and started working at Gustavsberg in 1954. Lisa Larson has been as important to Swedish ceramics as Astrid Lindgren has been to Swedish literature. Her sculptures are recognized by most Swedes. Lisa Larson is very popular in Japan where several special exhibitions of her work have been exhibited. Today, quantities of household items and her designs are newly produced but this is a unique item handcrafted by Lisa herself when she worked at Gustavsberg.
