"Ruth Dicker, a painter whose artwork sought to capture the beauty of the rolling landscapes of her Sonoma County surroundings "Her artwork is featured in many private and public collections and in the buildings and offices of major corporations, such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Crown Zellerbach and Harrah's Casino in Reno. A 24-foot long landscape of hers adorns the art building at Yosemite National Park. Ms. Dicker was born in the countryside of Niagara Falls, N.Y., a location whose majestic waterfalls foreshadowed a 50-year career spent capturing nature's beauty. In 1970, Ms. Dicker was named "Woman Artist of the Year" by the Association of University Women, a national organization." Sadly, shedied of heart failure Thursday at Sutter Warrick Hospital in Santa Rosa. She was 85.
