Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at an older Atlas desk stand from the 1970's era and perfect for just about any older vintage microphone. The design, paint scheme shows that it's clearly an early generation DS-7 retractable desk stand made in Parssippany, NJ. Pic # 2 is from an older Atlas catalog showing this particular model. Total length is 12 inches high x 6 inches wide but can be lowered to 8 inches if needed? This mic stand is pretty dang nice overall. If you need a great 70's era stand for that special older mic...this is the one. The upper chrome stem shows very lite wear in the form of lite scuff marks and scratches. The bottom stem shows the same amount of wear and the Atlas logo is still present and looks decent with some heavier wear. These often wear off from years of use. There are no signs of discoloration on the original black paint. Zero paint chips or scuff marks. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The locking clutch mechanism works excellent. All 3 original cork pads are present and in excellent condition. The stand will accept just about any microphone with the exception of a few Astatic mics due to their unusual 3 pin attachment. All E.V, Shure and Turner mics will screw on however. This stand has the universal 5/8 thread. This is perfect for most older mics and all mic clips because of it's wide, stable base.
