You are looking at a nice older late 1950's early 60's Shure 520SL microphone with magnetic controlled transducer set at high Z for a very dirty distinct muddy sound that is sought after by harp players while using the harmonica. These were originally intended as "general purpose" mics for dispatch and communications and can still be used for such. The mic has a very "rockabilly" sound in nature giving many musicians that 30's - 50's experience. This mic comes with it's original A88A "push to talk" hand grip in which to activate the mic with an on / off lever. There is also a new 3 pin to XLR adapter that screws into the bottom of the A88A in which to operate. You have everything to need except for a stand and longer extension cable but the A88A will screw onto any desk or floor stand you intend on using. Pic # 2 is from an old advertisement showing the mics basic characteristics. As you can see this mic is in pretty nice condition overall. It shows typical lite wear on the original painted finish in the form of paint chips and lite scratches but the Shure label looks very nice. The satin chrome front grill looks very nice as well as the inner silk screen. The A88A hand grip functions perfectly and the satin chrome finish is superb. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. The original controlled magnetic element is still inside the mic housing and again, 100% signal. The A88A plastic black lever can snap into place as well if you want the mic live at all times. Otherwise just depress the handle only when you need to go live. Easy on / off depending on your needs. The mic comes with the 4 pin to XLR adapter that is sold here on Ebay for around $60.00. This adapter can be screwed on like the old cable and left in place. Then simply plug a longer XLR cable of choice to operate the mic. You have everything you need. Will make a very fun mic to use for many situations.
