Description: Vintage 1950s Fit and Flare Dress Pleated Cocktail Blue Stripe Full Skirt This vintage 1950s fit and flare dress is made from a beautiful seersucker fabric with a micro-stripe of blue and gold. From a distance, the dress appears to be a metallic navy blue as the micro-stripes blend together. It has 5 large buttons as a closure down the front. These buttons are covered and matching with the bodice of the dress. Above the top button there is a black snap closure that appears to be added later. There is an original hook and eye closure at waistband between the first and second button. It is missing the original belt, thus the waist has a small threaded belt loop on each side. The cuff sleeves are sewn down and feature a small notch on the outer side. There are pleats that start below the waist and fall down to the hem. There is a 1/8" hole on the top of the left shoulder. There are two holes on top of the right shoulder that are about 1/2". Some of the texture under the arms has been flattened with time. Wearing a crinoline under this dress would make it look very full.
