Description: This vintage 1936 wooden match Box holder is a unique addition to any collection. The holder features a charming wooden dog design with the phrase "Scratch Me" inscribed above. It was manufactured in the United States and has not been modified. Novelty Pup was a souvenir of Milwaukee, WIS. / Doggie had was Patented & produced in Chicago. The right rear leg was damaged some years ago. The leg is slightly cracked on the upper rear. The leg is not broken & the pup gets around just fine. The head is capable of movement & adds to his adorable allure. Dimensions are: Width is 2 & a 1/4” at the head, body is 1 & 3/4” wide, the whole PUP is 2 & 1/2” long (from tail to nose), and 3 & a 1/2 “ tall (from ear tip to bottom of paw). Weight is 1 & 1/2 oz. The match holder is perfect for storing and displaying matches, and the scratching of the match against the holder is said to bring the guest luck & adds to its charm.
