Vintage 1 Gallon Albany Slip Red Wing Bottom Signed Crock Circa - 1870 - 1890sThis very hard-to-find, bottom-signed 1-gallon Red wing crock with Albany Slip glaze exterior and interior crock is a survivor in great vintage condition with only a few small glaze flakes as shown in the photos. Stoneware pieces of this age and variety are rarely seen on the market. Many collectors have stated they've seen a few but never had the opportunity to own one. Now is your chance!If you have the ability to reference one of the Red Wing Stoneware Identification Guides (DePasquale & Peterson), this crock most closely resembles the RW 4 and more so the RW5 bottom stamp but neither one perfectly. The anomaly is that the reference books show all of the text reading in a clockwise direction. This crock has Red Wing clockwise and Stoneware Co reading counterclockwise.
