One of the MGF units was the Koho MGF, composed of members of the Koho ethnic minority.The Koho MGF was based in the central highlands of Vietnam and was trained and advised by American Special Forces personnel. The unit's primary mission was to conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, and ambush operations against Viet Cong forces in the area.The Koho MGF was known for its expertise in jungle warfare and its ability to operate in difficult terrain. The unit was also effective in gathering intelligence from local villagers and using that information to plan and execute successful operations against Viet Cong forces.Despite their successes, the Koho MGF and other ARVN MGF units were hampered by corruption, poor leadership, and inadequate support from the ARVN high command. These issues, coupled with the overwhelming strength and persistence of the Viet Cong insurgency, ultimately led to the failure of the ARVN MGF program.
