SALE!! Very RARE Early Blonde Parian GLASS EYES & SOPHIA SMITH hair ALL-ORIGINAL

Description: Offering a very rare, hard to find, unglazed bisque parian turned shoulder head doll with blue glass eyes and sought-after Sophia Smith hairstyle. She was made in the 1850's and is totally original with layers of undergarments and elaborate A-line dress with long sleeves, lavishly ruched, pleated, and ruffled from neck to hem featuring early cutwork and embroidery. She is flawless with no damage or repairs, with the finest quality bisque, deeply-modelled features, slightly turned shoulder head, softly-blushed cheeks, multi-stroke painted brows, lushly painted lashes around her cobalt blue glass eyes, and closed mouth with a red line between closed lips. Her plate is unmarked. Her blonde Sophia Smith hairstyle is also deeply molded with the signature style being slightly wavy around her forehead from her center part, with a long spiral curl at each ear and the rest of the longer curls descending in the back of the head from deep comb-marked hair and twist in different directions. The front long curl beside the one at each ear, curve inward towards her lower cheek and neck. I have not fully undressed her because her dress is slightly tight on her long sleeves and one has a short, horizontal tear that blends in with her dress so I did not want to risk damaging her costume by tugging on it. With the exception of that, all her clothing is very sturdy and is not fragile despite its' great age. I have moved her costume around and felt, and looked at everything as best as I could to examine her. Her original gusseted cloth body is sturdy & clean, she has white kid arms with mitten hands. These may have been replaced or recovered. Her costume comprises a chemise, lace cutwork trimmed pantalettes that have the same embroidery as her gown, two full petticoats, black silk blend stockings, snd her lovely A-line gown. This is a wonderful parian of the highest quality and in a perfect cabinet size for those who like the smaller sized dolls, and she is just the "whole package".
