Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR (1964). Born in the village of Zavadovka near Odessa. He studied simultaneously at the Kharkov Artistic Professional School and the Kharkov Art Institute (1924-1927) under I. Dubasov, A. Kokel, S. Prokhorov. In 1927-1929 he studied at the painting studio at the Central House of Arts in Leningrad under E. M. Cheptsov and I. I. Brodsky. Since 1932 - participant of republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions. He worked in the field of easel painting and graphics. The author of genre paintings made according to the canons of socialist realism, portraits - N. A. Skripnik, I. Ya. Franko, T. G. Shechenko. He was engaged in propaganda posters ("Chervoniy army - klyasovo showcase, mitsne popovnennya", 1933). He taught at the Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute in Kharkov, in 1939 he was appointed an assistant professor. After the war, he taught at the Polygraphic Institute in Lvov. He worked a lot on the design and illustration of books. He performed illustrations to Ukrainian fairy tales, to the trilogy "Go to Kiev" by S. D. Sklyarenko, stories, novels and stories by N. Trublaini and others. He performed social and political posters, including agricultural ones - "I fulfill my obligations." (1954 or 1955). This poster was noted by critic ML Ioffe in his famous article "Agitation posters on agricultural themes" (magazine "Art" No. 4, July-August, 1955). Participated in republican and all-union exhibitions. The artist's personal exhibition was held in 1959 at the Lviv Museum of Ukrainian Art.
