Description: Here are some used Switchcraft 27312 illuminated lever switches, with 3 color switch position color gels. These were used in many vintage Tape recorders, mixboards and other applications from the late 1960's through the late 1970's.Applications I know of from my personal collection include the Ampex MM1000, the Scully 280B, Scully 284 and the Scully 100. In the center position the lever is Orange in color. In the up position (in the exampe photos), the lever is Red in color. When the switch is in the other extreme position the color is Green. You can find new old stock switches like these for around $30 to $40 each. But what if you just have a broken lever and don't want to spend that much and have to swap all the wires from the old switch to the new switch? The main reason I'm offering these used switches is that my Ampex MM1000 had many broken levers. What I did was to purchase used ones, and swap the frames (and levers) by removing the contacts from the frame with a broken lever, and installing them on a replacement frame with a good lever. Yes, it's easier than unsoldering all the wires and soldering them back onto a new switch! As of today, I'm offering 20 of these used switches - mainly so you have the parts needed to replace a broken lever. If you were to use the contacts you will probably want to clean them before use. I did a video that shows how to do this if you want to go that way. Search YouTube for the following: "Cleaning old school switches with DeOxit D5 - Ampex MM1000" . That shows you the easy way to clean these switch contacts. Please inspect all the photos, and understand I can't guarantee these used switches will work unless the contacts are cleaned. My advise is to just swap the frames to fix your existing switches with broken levers.
