Description: Vintage U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) North American Aviation P-51 Mustang sterling silver lapel pin. Pin was ostensibly presented by the aircraft manufacturer to individuals affiliated with the P-51 Mustang program. Lapel pin is approximately 1” long and is marked “STERLING.” Pin has a screw back and a threaded nut which is marked “O.C. TANNER COMPANY SALT LAKE CITY. The O.C. Tanner Company was founded in 1927 and produces employee recognition awards and similar items. Lapel pin appears to be in very good used condition with signs of age and wear, such as minor scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, and marks or discoloration where the screw back nut contacts the aircraft pin.
