This kit matches lid switch part number 8318084. These are genuine, quality Molex parts, which are better than what came on your machine originally. These are NOT for use with any lid switch that is mounted below the cabinet body, such as 3949247. Those switches have a different ground location, which is critically important. Make sure the lid switch you have matches what's in the pictures for this ad before purchasing. Note: failing lid switches are the source of the heat that melted the connector. If you repair the connector and do not replace the lid switch, you will melt the new connector. You MUST replace the lid switch to eliminate the source of heat if you plan to repair a melted harness connector. Lid switches can be purchased for $8 including shipping from amazon or ebay. Please also note that this original Molex connector geometry is slightly different than the third party connector that was placed on your machine when it was built. This connector is interchangeable with the one you are replacing, though you may notice differences in the location of flat spots in the molded plastic. You can see an example of this in the last picture. The connectors clip right into place and the terminals have a lot of positive engagement and push on/off force when you plug in or unplug the connector, just like they should. These physical features are not related to the function in this washing machine application, so these slight differences are not something to be concerned about and will not impact your installation unless you are erroneously attempting to mate the new connector to an old, melted lid switch body.
