Description: For sale here is a gorgeous and exceedingly rare US Post WW2 Gemsco Manufactured Silver Bullion Winged Boot Patch. As you can see, this is still in the original wrapping. I won't call it cellophane, but it is very old plastic. The wrap is in good shape, and is not brittle. This is right out of an N.S. Meyer Closing Sale hoard. The patch is direct embroidered silver bullion on post war late 1940's Air Force Blue wool fabric. The fabric is backed with black stiffening fabric. Obviously, the patch is not used, but the bullion shows extremely minor age toning. For scale, the boot is 1 1/4" tall at it's tallest point. War time examples of these are hard to find, and this is the only US manufactured post war Winged Boot that i could find anywhere. A few of these were certainly made for the downed airmen that remained in service post WW2. This is a rare beauty that will be a centerpiece of any collection.
