Description: US Civil War Model 1840 Cavalry Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "P.S. Justice" over "Philada". The guard is tight and is barely deformed. The grip is also tight and the leather is 85% complete. The twisted wire wrap is 100% complete. The blade is straight, looks lightly sharpened (doesn't feel sharp), the tip is sharp, some nicks along the edge, and has small age spots scattered. The scabbard is solid overall with no dents but it has been painted black at some point and there is paint loss spots scattered throughout. The leather washer is intact. Length of the blade is 35 7/8" (1 1/18" wide and 5/16" thick), the sword is 41 1/4", and in the scabbard it is 42 3/8". Check out my other War Items! Including More Swords and Many Bayonets!
