Description: US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked "Ball Black & Co" over "N.Y.". The grip, guard and pommel all wiggle. The sharkskin grip is 70% complete. The double strands of twisted wire are 100% complete. The double clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it on one side and the folding side is blank (it is slightly bent). The push button release is stuck in pressed mode. The etched blade is mostly clean with some small very light age spots, it is straight, unsharpened, and has a couple nicks. The scabbard is solid with a couple small anti-rattle dents towards the drag, and has small nickel loss freckles scattered throughout. The washer is partially intact. Length of the blade measures 30 3/8" (3/4" wide x 1/4" thick), length of the sword is 36 3/8", and in the scabbard it is 37 1/4". Comes with an index card stating this sword is identical to one carried by Gen'l A.T.A. Torbert (General Alfred Thomas Archimedes Torbert) during the Civil War. Check out my other War items!!
