Description: Antique hardcover set of volumes 2-4 of the Universal Dictionary of the English Language edited by Robert Hunter & Charles Morris (Peter Fenton Collier, 1899). Quarter bound in leather with gilt lettering to spine. Decorative marbled endpapers and outer edges of text block. With illustration, including several full color pages. A very clean set for their age. Some rubbing to faces and shelf wear around the edges, including bumped corners. Hinges appear to have possibly been reinforced or repaired - binding remains quite firm on the whole though there are a few instances where binding is visible in gutters. All pages are clean and unmarked though slightly tanned. See photos for condition. Packaged with care and shipped via USPS Media Mail
