Unique Art Glass Co Wisteria Reproduction Leaded Glass Lamp Shade Handel Style

Description: I bought this lamp from a lamp collector, believing it was an antique Wisteria leaded glass lamp, by the Unique Art Glass Co circa 1906 that is 20" in diameter. After purchase, I presented many pics of it, online to other collectors & dealers. I was told in a few separate replies, that it is a copy of the Unique Art Glass Co, produced in the 1970's, not the early 20th C. Even though I was disappointed by this information, I decided to keep it, as it is a very well done reproduction! I decided to sell it, as a reproduction, for a fraction of what was revealed to me, by experts in antique lamp collecting, that this 20" wide shade, if it was authentic Wisteria shade, made by Unique Art Glass Co, it would be valued on today's market for $4500 - $8000 for the shade only. I'm selling the leaded shade only, without the fantastic, Unique Art Glass & Metal Co, tree trunk base, that you can see in the pics I included. This shade is an exact copy, of the one made by Unique Art Glass Co, as I was told by the seller, I bought this from, with the exact same measurements, including the aperture opening width of 3 5/8" wide, the metal used in the construction of this shade, is the same as the construction, that I read in Paul Crist's Mosaic Shades Vol II on pages 50 & 51, the reason I believed it was an antique, before I paid for it. The description in the book on pg 50 indicates that the edge of the aperture opening is 1/8" round brass rod, which is the same on this shade. I talked with the dealer, that said this is a reproduction shade, not antique, regarding this the shade. He said "don't you think the person or company that produced this copy shade, would have used the exact same measurements as the original?" This is how much I know about antique & reproduction leaded glass shades! I know very little, according to expert dealers, of antique lamps. The expert dealers & collectors told me, it is not from the early 20th C, so I had to believe, what these experts kept telling me, that I bought a reproduction, not an antique original. I am selling this shade, as a very well constructed copy or reproduction made in the 1970's. This is what I was told, so I have no choice, but to believe what I am being told - this Wisteria shade is a reproduction. I am not an authority on Unique leaded lamps - I been an avid collector of leaded glass lamps, with a nice upgraded collection of antique leaded lamps. I made a mistake in buying this lamp, but because the massive tree trunk base is an antique original by Unique Art Glass & Metal Co, I have kept the lamp as a whole, so I could keep tree trunk base, as the base is outstanding, a base I don't have. The base is not for sale at this time! Again this sale, is for a Unique Art Glass Co wisteria leaded glass shade reproduction, hand produced by an unknown quality maker from the 1970's or late 60's. Condition: shade could use a soap bath, to remove old dirt on the exterior & interior glass tiles. I counted about 9 tiles of small glass tiles, that have 1 or more cracks in the glass, particularly in one section of the shade, that likely got bumped into, on this side - the rest of glass tiles throughout are original, with no heat cracks or fractures. I personally paid a lot more $, to buy this Wisteria lamp & have kept the Unique Co, tree trunk base for another large diameter floral shade. This shade I have decided to sell, for far below an original Unique Co Wisteria shade. I have a buy it now with best offer included, to make this Wisteria shade available for a reasonable price! Again as a reminder, the aperture opening of the shade is 3 5/8" wide, where the shade, will rest on the base of your choice. A perfect fit, using a standard Handel shade rest & finial, works fine for my lamp base. I ship USPS priority mail with insurance of amount paid which is included in shipping and handling costs. I wrap the shade in many sections of thick bubble wrap to keep shade snug in inner box to prevent movement of shade. I double box this delicate glass shade in the largest width thick cardboard box, that priority mail still accepts 24L"x24"Wx16"H for shipping and with insurance to make sure the shade arrives to buyer, undamaged & this is not cheap anymore, since shipping cost, is constantly raised every year, by all the shipping Co.'s & because of how well I pack the shade, so it arrives to you undamaged.
