Description: An old publication by ERH publishers on how to decode and translate German dog tags from WW2. Also very useful for Wehrpasses, Soldbuchs and most WW1 dog tags. What would take me a while to work which German word had been abbreviated then, translating that word into something that made sense and then understanding it in a military context now takes seconds using this book. This version has a few more pages than the original, for the same price that give full examples of dog-tags that the author owns and shows you exactly which units they are, and in some cases where they fought. The book starts with an overall introduction in dog tags and where these were first used. After that, moving into the German systems of WW2 and the relationship between dog tags and other types of German ID. The bulk of the book is the decoding phase, where you simply look up any abbreviations you need to understand and read the results in English. Simple! As far as I know this is the only book of its kind in English. The book contains hundreds of photos of original dog tags and pieces of dog tags, as well as many illustrations of the more hard to find tags. An excellent book and really useful for any collector of Third Reich militaria. By having this printed in paperback they have kept the price right down. So many of these specialist collector books are sold in hardback only and the last I purchased myself on shoulder-boards was well over £50! Ouch! The print and paper types used are high quality and the paper finish is excellent. This book currently cannot be purchased anywhere else, only from me. If you want a signed copy the author is happy to sign and dedicate them to anyone who wishes. I'm not sure how long he will be happy to keep doing this, but for now its fine. PLEASE NOTE - This book is fully included inside our larger book 'Name Rank & Serial Number', as well as stacks of in-depth information on lots of other countries identity discs and dog-tags. If you just are just after information on German, then this is great, but if you have any interest in other nations then the other book maybe better, If you're fed up with FB making you sensor you posts, delete your comments, eradicate groups because 'they' don't like them, isn't it time to maybe get rid of THEM. At MilitaryHistory.Network they don't' delete posts, they don't delete groups, it's all about history, it's a place where adults can share information, discuss things, post photos and there is no need to sensor anything. It works like FB, is similar in use to FB, but just without the nonsense... lets let the children have FB, we can still use it to post photos of your dinner to share with your family. Keeping your militaria, re-enacting and military vehicles in a place where they belong...Militaryhistory.network hopefully we'll see you there
