Description: Two 1972 Chateau Lafite Rothschild Pauillac, Empty Wine Bottles in Original Crate These two bottles from 1972 were full until recently. The wine was not drinkable, sadly, having been stored in a Southern California basement. The corks were unsalvageable, but the lead caps were saved. One of the caps was cut along the top, and the top saved along with the side. The second bottle, I managed to slip the lead cap intact from the top before removing the cork. I replaced it over the top of the bottle without compressing the lead back around it (so it could be removed if you wanted to put some 2-buck-chuck red wine in it to have some fun with your wine connoisseurs [no, I'm not suggesting you do]). The case, you may not want, but I'm including it in the auction. It increases the shipping costs, sorry. (The two bottles and case, without any shipping box and packing materials, weighs over 7 pounds.) The labels are both in good used condition, with the importer tags beneath them (I believe these were purchased at an old FedCo store—they had a wine department much like Costco does these days). One of the wine labels has a blemish in the sky portion (seems to have been rubbed off), visible in the images. I hope this is sufficient description, but ask any questions if you like.
