There is masterful detailing on the Tibetan silver embellishments, which include tiny silver balls and thin rope edging. The inset color in these earrings comes from reconstituted gemstones: Turquoise. With the increasing scarcity and escalating cost of these kinds of gemstones, tiny chips or cast-offs from the grinding process that are left over from larger projects or rounding & smoothing beads are further finely ground and then bound or fused with a resin. This method can be used to create a paste-like consistency that allows the artist to press the mixture inside of even fine lines, to create beautiful detailing. Alternatively, the resin may be broken into pieces, to give a more "stone-like" appearance.
