Each tonearm is designed and based on its own geometrical parameters (pivot to spindle distance, effective length, overhang and offset angle). In other words - all tonearms have different geometry and needs a specific (unique) arc and null points on it for an accurate alignment of cartridge/stylus! Therefore, all stock and "universal" protractors are very basic and are able to align a phono cartridge for quick start of your turntable only. Tracking Wizard’s Cartridge Alignment Protractor is designed and made specially for this tonearm and based on its geometrical parameters, so will improve the trackability of your phono cartridge much better than stock and universal alignment tools! In general, cartridge alignment protractor may be designed in accordance with manufacturer specifications as well as in accordance with Baerwald (Lofgren A), Stevenson, Lofgren B designs.
