Description: Vic Power was a flamboyant fielding first baseman who won 7 gold gloves (1958-1964) and played in 6 All Star games. He was the second Puerto Rican of African descent to play in the major leagues and his real name was Victor Felipe Pellot Pové. 1957-#167 This card has a small bite taken out of it in the upper right-hand border. The number 1 is also written in pencil on his left arm (though can probably be erased). Corners are rounded all around, but portrait is well centered, with no tears, stains or smudges. The back is unremarkable. 1958-#406 This is the best card of the lot. sharp corners, clear portrait, really good centering. No stains, paper tears or whatnot. There is a number one or a thing line penciled in the left border but csn probably be erased. Back looks just as good. 1959-#229 This card suffers from a stain that starts in the middle of the upper border, then goes down past the E in Power's name and stops in the portrait. A second stain is just under Chief Wahoo's cartoon. Corners are rounded, there is a small vertical crease in the upper right-hand corner. Edges show signs of wear. back is okay. 1961-#255 This card is tied for best card in the lot. Sharp corners with great centering on this one. No stains, pencil marks, paper tears, creases or other anomalies. 1962-#445 This card suffers from worn corners, some paper damage on the lettering of his uniform, and a thin crease going from Powers' teeth to the bottom of the card. There is also a vertical crease in the lower left corner. The back has a dark stain across the top and you can see more of the damage from the front lower left corner here on the lower left corner. 1962 Topps Vic Power stamp--In 1962 Topps issued a whole series of these star player stamps. These are not easy to find today, particularly in this good a condition. All the teeth are good with none missing, the tab advertising Topps baseball stamp album is still attached, and there are no creases, marks or stains. back is unlicked and unused. It was stored in an evelope for the past 60+ years and looks brand new. This may be the best part of this package in that the cards you can find anywhere, this not so much.
