Most items are from the early to mid 20th century and includes loose photographs as well as some pictures that were cut by the owner from an antique photo album. This photo is from the early 1960s when crew cuts were phasing their way out of style. Dow - who was also a producer/director and a renowned sculptor.In this photo, the college-age Dow is lying in the grass reading a text book, barefoot, and wearing a white t-shirt and khaki pants with the legs rolled up under his knees.
