Description: An absolutely tiny late Georgian period mourning locket brooch! This diminutive little pin is made of solid 9 carat gold, with an utterly lovely surround of alternating natural almandine garnets and tiny split seed pearls. It's set with its original deeply rounded oval glass, itself with a gold bezel and friction fit into position - this means the contents can be changed out if desired. Inside is a wonderful spiral gold and seed pearl display, over a stunningly finely crafted hair arrangement. These hair pieces were worked by master craftspeople in miniature, every single hair in perfect alignment and very finely held in place in a wonderfully attractive tightening curl that shifts and breathes as the light moves across. It dates to around 1790 and is in lovely original condition, with a possibly replaced c-clip to the back. Weighing in at just 1.8 grams, its a superb tiny size at 22 x 13 mm. All my items are guaranteed 100% as described or your money back, so buy with confidence!
