Description: You are bidding on The Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication (Vol II ONLY of two Volumes) written by Charles Darwin. This ex-libris book was published by D. Appleton & Co. (New York, NY) in 1892 and is an early edition of this notable publication. The book is in good condition for its age but as you might expect, it has the traditional library markings on the spine, pocket in the back, pencil writings and library stamp. Also, there is a tear along the spine area on the page across from the Title page. Also, pages 183-202 are a bot loose but still attached. That stated, the good thing about library books is they are generally well cared for and kept in climate controlled spaces. And this looks like it was in "storage" so not publicly accessible unless requested. This book is illustrated and would be a great addition to any collection or even better as a gift. A little fraying on the top of the spine but other than library markings, it is quite nice.
