Each stick is 29.25 inches long and 1-3/16 inch wide choice bamboo stock, examined for possible weaknesses, then smoothed and baked... they weigh in at 14.8 ounces each. Each stick has 4 inches of tightly wrapped 2mm thick round braided macrame nylon cord which acts as bumpers and shock absorbers... bumpers for blocking other weapons, shock absorbers that reduce shock to the hands. The coils dissipate some of the shock traveling from one end of the stick to the other when striking or blocking. A similar crimson red macrame cord wrapped 5 inches long for handles also works to absorb some shock and improve grip.
