Description: The Mystic Bible by Dr. Randolph Stone-2nd Edition 1956 BOOK CONDITION: VERY GOOD with damp staining to the top page block not affecting pages, no waving, two small bumps to the board edges one to the top and one to the bottom edge closer to the spine (see photo). Toning to the pages. Some underling to the Foreword and to the verso of the Foreword entitled "Bibles Used." Preface is clean as is "Table of Contents." The first page of the Introduction has some underlining in green pen and the second pages of the Introduction have some underlining in red pen (see photos). Pages 13, 20, 21, 23, 27, 28, 155, 169, 174, 184 185 186, 315 and 316 have sparce underling and pages 112, 113, 114 and 115, 228, 307, 308, 310, 311 have more underlining in pen but not overwhelming. This book has a tight binding and straight unbumped corners. Excluding the underlining it is super clean inside and out. Not a library copy. No Dust Jacket. Ships next day securely wrapped with free tracking. This is a VERY NICE COPY in spite of the underlining. I have tried to represent with photos the complete condition of this book. Black cloth covered boards with titles in gilt to the spine and the front cover. Stone was the creator of Polarity Therapy. This book is on Surat Shabd yoga. A few years after publication Stone moved permanently to India. Randolph Stone (February 26, 1890 - December 9, 1981) was the founder of polarity therapy, a complementary technique of holistic, spiritually based energy healing. He held doctorates in osteopathy, chiropractic, and naturopathy. He had an interest in philosophy and religions, and encountered Ayurvedic philosophy on a trip to India.[3]His background in chiropractic was shaped by his studies of various Eastern concepts of energy medicine, including Ayurveda,traditional Chinese medicine, yoga, and reflexology. He held the opinion that this energy was influenced by touch, diet, movement, sound, attitude, relationships and by environmental factors.[11] He had a successful private practice in Chicago and he also worked for about 10 years in a clinic in India.[12]Stone was initiated into the Radha Soami tradition under Sawan Singh in 1945 and in 1956 published his Mystical Bible, a Radha Soami interpretation of verses from the Bible. Stone spent the last eight years of his life with his niece Louise Hilger in a house at the Radha Soami center in Beas, India. He died there in 1981. Stone's ideas have been dismissed by medical health experts as quackery or untestable. They have also been criticized as a discredited form of vitalism. According to Nancy Allison in "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Body-mind Disciplines," even advocates of Stone's theory consider his books, "Health Building and Polarity Therapy" to be difficult reading due to their inconsistencies and ambiguities. His ideas are thus interpreted widely, and polarity therapists vary in their approaches. His ideas were later popularized by Pierre Pannetier, a naturopath, who had studied under Stone. There are many polarity associations around the world. Due to the underlining I would consider this a VERY GOOD working copy still A SUPER SCARCE 2nd Edition.
