The number line on the copyright page ends with "8" which has led some to believe that, along with being a First BCE, this copy is also an Eighth Printing of the First American Edition.Our research, which was quite extensive, does not support that belief!Regardless of whether this copy is an Eighth Printing, which we believe it is not, the most significant fact remains, this is a Book Club Edition, essentially an early reprint. Once again, we want to reiterate that this is NOT a First American Edition/First Printing. This rare treasure has some clearly visible wear, mainly affecting the dust jacket, but is still in lovely, Highly Collectible condition!While still in Highly Desirable condition, the wear, especially to the dust jacket, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no internal foxing, no remainder marks, no missing or ripped pages and is NOT Ex-Libris. The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/scuffing/wear to the spine/corners/boards, most noticeable near/along the edges!While fairly minor, the wear is still clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered.
