She was an active suffragist, and member of the Woman Writers' Suffrage League. An active feminist, Sinclair treated a number of themes relating to the position of women and marriage--The Judgement of Eve, is a prime example of this. This short story was first published in Everybody's Magazine, Sept., 1907. Everybody's was a Ridgeway publication. Harper published THE JUDGEMENT OF EVE (along with other stories) in 1908. It would appear that the present edition was the first published separate edition. At the bottom of the last page the following is printed: "Reprinted by permission of The Ridgeway Company and by arrangement with Harper and Brothers." This is not a modern print.Condition: Very good.
