Description: This Greatest Hits package consists of music from the last three Animals LPs, recorded in 1968-1969. Aprt from Eric Burdon, the band consists of musicians other than the original line-up, and reflects more of a psychedelic sound than the earlier blues-based music of the Animals. Having said that, it contains three indisputable "Greatest Hits" from any era of the Animals. "San Franciscan Nights", "Monterey" and "Sky Pilot" are absolute Animals high points, with social and political commentary of relevance to the period. Not to denigrate the remaining music though. "River Deep, Mountain High", "Winds of Change" and the BeeGees cover, "To Love Somebody" are great songs on their own.
