Description: The Crucifixion wood icon. The Cretan School 16c. Suitable for hanging. It measures approximately 5 1/2" x 7 1/2". Good condition with some scratches on front. Cannot see it unless on angle because the icon has like a glaze over it which has the scratches. Also the raised part in the middle is not glazed at top and bottom as seen in photos. Very nice icon.The term Cretan School is used, in order to describe an important school of painting, which flourished during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The is raised in the middle.
