Description: Up for sale is a Very Rare, Early Printing of The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger. A Beloved, 20th Century Classic!! Early Printings of this Title are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!! Hardcover. No dust jacket. Issued with a jacket but the jacket is no longer present. Published by Little, Brown and Company: Boston, 1952. Early Printing. American Edition. "Reprinted March 1952" is clearly stated on the copyright page. Please remember this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! This is an Early Printing of the First American Edition. Once again, this is NOT a First Edition/First Printing. This, being an Early Printing of the First Edition, is an attractive option for those who wish to have a valuable early printing, a near clone of the first state, while avoiding the exorbitant cost of a first printing. One last time, please remember this is NOT the First Printing of the First Edition. This is an Early Printing. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible age/wear, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and has no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is holding firm and tight. All of the pages are present, fully attached and still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf/age wear along with a previous owner illustrated bookplate, creases/scuffing/marks/wear to the spine/corners/boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/marks/discoloration/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the wear on the spine/corners/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges and on the spine, and the wear that is present on the pages, particularly noticeable on certain pages. The wear on some of the pages is considerable. The wear on the spine has resulted in a very noticeable altering of the shape. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. While all of the pages are present and attached, one can clearly see some space/separation along the top edge of the spine, (the area that connects the spine to the pages). As previously mentioned, there is a previous owner illustrated bookplate! The bookplate is attached to the front pastedown, (inside front board), and contains the name of a previous owner. The name was written in pen. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear/age when determining the value of this rare book. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear is very clearly visible! All of the wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection. Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!! Payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed. Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can buy with confidence! Thank you!!
