Description: This listing is for a Technics SL-QL1 Quartz Direct Drive Automatic Turntable System. This item has been tested and it is BROKEN. More specifically, the stylus will not advance on the record when the record is played. When plugged in, this unit powers on as expected. Once a record is added to the platter and the play button is pressed, the record will begin to spin, also as expected. The stylus will move into place and drop onto the edge of the record - however, the stylus will NOT advance and the needle will be "stuck" in place, only spinning on the edge of the record. This can all be seen by the testing video that is included with this item listing. I removed the internal cover to display the inner electronics of the unit in hopes it would help to identify the issue - however I do not know what is causing this issue, or how to fix this problem. Furthermore, while removing the plastic cover, I noticed a small area where the plastic has snapped from the area where it is connected, but this does not seem to have any effect on the issue described here. Because of this issue with the stylus failing to advance, this item will be sold AS IS and in a "for parts or not working" condition.This record player will come with the included stylus/needle attached, and it will also come with the original manufacturer shipping box and a secondhand printout of the Operating Instructions.
