Description: Very nice copy of the original 1958 pressing of the famous recording of Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty conducted by Pierre Monteux, on RCA Living Stereo LP LSC-2177. Original shaded dog labels, 10S/1S stamps. Considered by many to be the best recording of this music ever made. I might agree. The disc is just beautiful and plays very near flawlessly and just gorgeously. There are some of those little spots that come from the acid in the paper sleeve, but they are not damage at all. I don’t hear a single tiny tick anywhere. Really a beautiful player. The cover has some water staining noticeable at the white edges on the front and on the back. The bottom right corner is badly dinged and there is a 1/2” split starting there. The top right is just barely beginning to split as well, about 1/4”. Aside from that all the edges are intact and the spine is fully readable. The lower left corner is fraying. Some scuffs and a bit of minor bubbling where the water stains are, but really not bad at all. Still a very nice cover anyway. All in all this is a lovely original copy that sounds fantastic.
