Description: Descriptions: Lot of 10 live jujube tree cuttings, from mature, healthy branches. Rather than waiting for a seedling to become mature, these cuttings save you years of waiting. Grafting or rooting, you'll harvest your own fresh jujube fruits this or next fall, depending on when you place your order (we, however, normally pinch off most flowers the first year so that the tree can grow stronger and produces much more fruits for years to come). Condition: Mature, healthy, live tree branch cuttings, with no roots, for grafting or rooting. Each cutting is 10" to 11" in length, with a minimum of 3 nodes (grafting buds). The successful rate for grafting is very high (please google it if you do not yet know how), but you do need a wild jujube tree or another variety jujube tree in your yard to graft on. It is relatively hard to root jujube cuttings. We do encourage you to try it if you are willing to put in some efforts and willing to take the risk. We do grow many trees each year from these same cuttings. Rooting instructions will be enclosed with each order. To find out if a rooted tree is available, please click here Variety: Shanxi Li, which produces very large, round-shaped fruits, as shown in the images above (took from the mother tree). The cuttings are hard to root, but easy-to-grow once rooted. Drought-resistant, hardy, prefers long, hot summer, almost pest and disease free. Be sure to wear gloves to protect from the thorns. Details: Jujube fruit is a drupe, in the size of a small plum (Shanxi Li variety is one of the largest in size and the sweetest in taste). When turns slightly reddish, it tastes more sweeter than an apple. Each fruit has only a few days of prime time on the tree before it turns fully ripe. The skin then turns wrinkle, dark red and the flesh becomes spongy. After drying it, it can be stored for a long time. The dried fruit has been used medicinally for millennium by many cultures. Each mature tree has the ability of producing hundreds of fruits each fall. If you like, you can pinch off 1/2 of the flowers so that the remaining fruits will grow extra large, extra sweet for you. Please Note: I will cut them in same day when ship them. They will be wrapped in wet paper, plastic bag, & shipping box. In case you are not familiar with the nodes of jujube cuttings, please refer to the last picture above to locate the bud you'll need for grafting. We do not offer any grafting instructions as there are countless grafting video and pictured instructions online. Please google it and pick the method you like. "T-budding grafting" is one of our favorite methods. Be aware, to graft, you do need a wild sour jujube tree or another variety jujube tree in your yard to graft on. We normally trim off all thrones from these cuttings. Be aware of them in case we missed any. A pair of heavy working gloves is highly suggested once they start to grow any new branches. Upon arrival, please soak them in fresh water for a few hours before grafting or planting. To plant them, just make sure the flat or the bud end is on the top, the 45° cutting end is in the soil. Please follow the enclosed planting instructions for more details The rooted plants in the above pictures are for growing-stages references only, and are not included Quick facts: Variety: Shanxi Li Pollination: cross-pollination USDA zones: 5-10 Height: We keep ours under 7 feet for easy taking care and safety Width: 10-15' Exposure: Full sun
