It is NOT REQUIRED to do this. But, it will help the synchronizer sliders engage the outer steels better for crisper/cleaner shifting at higher rpm's. This Kit can be used in Ford GT500, Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Viper, among many other Tremec TR-6060 6 Speed Transmissions.
