Description: PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE LISTING TEXT AND CAREFULLY REVIEW ALL 8 PHOTOS. This is a listing for a SWISS ANTIQUE HEBDOMAS 8 DAY POCKET WATCH, WITH THE SUPER RARE HUNTER CASE AND IN .800 SILVER. All the 8 day Hebdomas pocket watches I have ever seen have been the open face model, that is why I bought this watch many years ago and kept it as a very rare collector watch. I gave this watch a time test (dial up) for a full 24 hours and it lost 10 minutes, so, it could use a watch service. The watch has a case width of approx. 49.8mm. I have never fully wound this watch to test it for a full 8 days of running and I do not guarantee that it can actually be fully wound and run for 8 full days, thus, the buyer who buys this watch must accept full risk for any damage if they try to run the watch for the 8 days. I wound the watch 50 winds and it ran well over 24 hours, so, it is in running order. Note, that there is some slippage while winding the watch, but if you press the stem crown inwards as you wind, the watch will wind correctly. Also, the watch is PIN SET: to set the watch hands, you must depress the pin and hold it down while you turn the watch stem crown to set the time. DO NOT PULL THE STEM CROWN UPWARDS! Please note that some photos show some reddish or black colors, but, these are reflections. The watch is in beautiful condition, but, there are several small dents on the side of the watch body-see the photo. Also, the back case lid cover will not snap shut, leaves a small gap, but, the front cover lid snaps correctly. I believe the watch dates from the 1916-1920's time period. The hunter case covers are extremely well engraved and I believe that with the .800 marked silver case that it was an expensive watch for its day. This is a very rare collector's watch and I have tried to disclose all issues that I am aware of, so, if these issues will bother the buyer, then just don't buy the watch. This is a great watch for the advanced collector and is very seldom offered for sale. I am now over 70 and have been selling my lifetime collection of collectables on eBay-see my other listings.
