Description: This is the stunning Swid Powell Pair of MCM Silverplated Candlesticks. The contemporary tableware company, Swid Powell was established in 1982 and commissioned home accessory designs from world renown architects. The MCM candlesticks were designed by architect, Richard Meier. The candlesticks are 12 inches tall and 4 inches wide. They are marked Swid Powell R/1 Made in Italy Silverplate. Swid Powell candlesticks were designed so that the components can be unscrewed for cleaning. I’ve never taken them apart. This pair was purchased from Bullock’s Wilshire in Los Angeles in 1985 and have been stored since then. I cleaned them with a silver polishing cloth to photograph them and replaced the felt tabs on the bottom of the ball feet because a few of them had fallen off being stored for almost 40 years. Otherwise, they are in the same excellent condition as when they were purchased. There is a teaspoon in one photo to show the impressive scale of these candlesticks, it is not included. $1200 plus $35 shipping.
