It was the subject of constant change.Originally fuelled by four carburetors, then increased to six and later eight, it ended its illustrious career supercharged and sporting Enderle injectors, a high-gear only and recorded 204.54mph over the quarter mile. Rival Setto Postoian took out an ad in Drag News calling Garlits a "swamp rat" for putting the young Malone in the car; Garlits thumbed his nose at Postoian by naming the car Swamp Rat, and the rest is history.
