Description: The Suriname 100 Gulden banknote was released by the Central Bank of Suriname in 2000 with red, violet, blue, and orange color combinations. The obverse design features nymphalid butterflies, a long-tailed hermit bird or Phaethornis superciliosus, the coat of arms of Suriname, a map, and trees. The back of the note depicts the Central Bank of Suriname headquarters building which is located at the Waterkant in Paramaribo, plumeria rubra or red frangipani flowers, and the bank seal. The paper bill bears a registration device in the form of a chameleon. It also has a windowed security thread with a demetalized CBVS 100 and a watermark that reflects the bank headquarters and an electrotype CBVS 100. The banknote is 140 x 70 mm in size and carries the signature of Hendrick Otmar Goedschalk. This particular Suriname 100 Gulden banknote has been graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
