Mookaite is found in only one location in the world - on the western side of the Kennedy Range in western Australia, and is named for the Mooka Creek that runs through this area. There really is no other gemstone that displays this striking range of colors.I surrounded the Mookaite with Czech Picasso finish beads, deep red garnet beads, iridescent Miyuki delicas, and finished it on the back with soft Ultrasuede. It was then mounted to a classic French Barrette that is golden blond and marbelized. The barrette is a good size, and will hold most hair types securely and without pulling.
