Question: Does this fruit have seeds. Yes, Martha the seeds are on the outside of this fruit ... as in Natures Greenery the Strawberry wild or domesticated is Her only fruit with seeds on the outside. Wild White Strawberry ... best for growing in a hanging basket or clay pottery strawberry planter or as a perennial ground-cover with prolific small white, when ripe, fruit for wildlife ... in fact a neighbor refers to them as 'bird berries' another neighbor is more polite and just says a 'gift from wildlife' as no one the local area knows for sure where they originally came ... so it's assumed, and probably correctly that Mom Nature and her crews over the years planted the first seed. The fruit is white to splash of light pink and very sweet and a favorite for night foraging creatures. If you want to taste the fruit .. you best try some in a hanging basket far up and and away for mom natures critters. Fruit is large gum drop size ... google for wild white alpine strawberries and it will be close to what these resemble. Having lived a fine life involving outdoor and indoor plants and have been gardening since I was 3 years old and now at age 83, I have decided to make available some plant material and or heirloom seeds from my gardens over the years so you may also enjoy and propagate and pass on to your friends and family much shared enjoyment.Over the years I have had interest in heirloom tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers and currently have a seed bank of over 100,00 seeds and I will be offering some of my little girl's seeds for others to grow and enjoy. I have selected some mutations of tomatoes and peppers and have cultured or grown then into a cultivar worthy of naming and making available to other gardeners and it is those cultivars which I call 'my little girls' ... more on this when I post more listings on EBAY. If you have an interest in growing or producing new (your own creation) cultivars email me and lets cuss and discuss your interest. Thanks for making it through my gibberish … in a way it's like weeding a garden … wink. This is an interesting plant here in my neighbor hood as no one takes claim to ever have planted them. The merits of this plant makes it very suitable ground cover and a companion planting in and around and maybe under other shrubbery.Like most berries ... these fine gems multiply by sending out runners and a small plant develops and then the runner continues etc ... thus, this is why they make a good groundcover relatively quickly.Reproducing a plant from stem tissue is termed 'cloning' or asexual reproduction as nothing genetically changes and pollen from other plants have no effect on the original genetic make up of new plant produced. Environmental and nutritional stresses as well as the owner's tlc will affect any plant's growth, color of bloom and on and on.I desire much gardening success for you when rooting cuttings, establishing groundcovers and growing my seeds. Being a retired Vocational Agriculture Instructor I am more than willing to help you, maybe, solve some of your gardening concerns and, maybe, assist you with better plants ... from rooting, germination and to fruit on the table and an admirable bloom to smile at.PLEASE NOTE: Since you may not live my local area I cannot be responsible for your garden's success or success of raising plants from my seed or cuttings therefore, my legal and financial responsibility is limited to the COST of item(s) purchased from me.Feel free to email me with any concern or questions you might have …since we can't do it over coffee … lets do it via emailI ship only on Mondays or Tuesdays and I found these plants be frost hardy and will not be damaged while in transit during cold shipping season. After all they survive year to year in the ground and here in my area it has ranged from a low of -23 degrees in Jan 1985 to an average winter now of about -5 degrees for couple days ... usually warmer. Like all wintering plant material this plant appreciates a good snow cover or other mulch for that added bit of winter protection from drying out. Late February and March is when the cold winds do their damage on any plant not protected from wind exposure. Instructions for heeling in, final planting and care are enclosed with the plants. I have never, over 47 years failed to experience their appearance come spring and that is/was achieved with NO care or feeding ... those little girls were on their own ... wink----------
