Description: This package contains three different types of pecans (Carya illionensis) that were harvested from NW Florida/Southern Alabama trees and cold-stratified in early December of 2023. Type 1: large, long/thin shaped nuts - 33 seeds Type 1: large, fat-shaped nuts - 33 seeds Type 1: small, normal-shaped nuts - 33 seeds TOTAL: 100 cold-stratified seeds for planting The seeds are packed in bags with moist vermiculite, perlite and sand and stored under refridgeration at 36 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit (2.22 to 4.44 degrees Celsius) (cold-stratified) and are to continue in cold stratification for at least 2 months before planting. Note that it is possible to plant the stratified seeds directly in your soil where are you in 10 for the trees to grow as long as it meets the cold stratification parameters, but that if you intend to start them in pots they will need to remain under cold stratification at least until early February (early December+ 2 months).
