Description: NO INTERNATIONAL SALES. This was purchased at an Estate sale of an avid collector of Victorian & European Glass in the Upper Northeast. Up for auction is an ANTIQUE STEVENS AND WILLIAMS ART GLASS MELON shape BASKET with THORN HANDLE. Circa late 1800's. Wonderful, ruffled opening with a beautiful melon shape bottom. Smooth polished pontil. The basket is in MINT/Excellent Original condition having NO chips, cracks, breaks, flea bites, scratches or repairs. It measures 8" in height, 5.25" handle to handle and 3.5" wide across bottom. The only thing I need to mention is that there is a discolored spot (See pic# 9) within the glass just under the ruffled edge that can't be felt from inside or outside. This is common for Early art glass to have discoloration within the piece as it was made by the artisan and simply mentioning for accuracy purposes. This is Stunning piece to add to your collection.
