He’d won 83 raves and hadn’t lost a 5000 in nearly two years. With this in mind, a duo of die-hard followers spoofed the popular “Go Pre!” message by printing shirts with the ironic statement, “Stop Pre”. Halfway thgouth his 5000 m victory lap, after crushing the field in 13:22, Pre stopped, took a shirt from the crowd and finished the lap wearing it. Once again, nothing could stop Pre. Nikerunning.com Pre LIVES Oregon Track Club (OTC) In 1949, Bill Bowerman, the newly appointed University of Oregon track coach planted a seed. In order to stimulate an interest in track and field during the summer, he decided to stage an all-comers meet for grade school athletes. A total of 15 people were there that first summer. As the years went by, the meets became a recognized event at the cinder practice track immediately west of Hayward Field. By 1965, they had become the Oregon Track Club. Several years later, Pre would add to the legacy of the OTC by proudly wearing this mark at Hayward Field. Nikerunning.com Pre LIVES Oregon Webfoot Running Schedule This schedule was Bowerman’s staple of personal training. The Webfoot. On a monthly basis, University of Oregon runners used these to measure progress of personal goals for peek performance. In other words, the schedule makes you into your own demanding coach.
