Being one of the few none-PhD's in the crowd wasn't the least bit intimidating as we were all there to soak in the words and presence of Professor Hawking. As his talk progressed, his charm, humanity, humor and genius was all clearly evident, even through his synthesized voice. THEN he got to the part in his talk on Cosmology and began explaining about "imaginary time". I had been with him every step up to that point. That's when my brain began to hurt, then cramped up, and finally melted down. It was right there that I realized why HE is Stephen Hawking and the rest of us mere mortals were there to listen to him! It was a relief when he ended his talk with his favorite picture, taken to commemorate his greatest achievement up to that point...posing with and as a cast-member of The Simpsons!
