This saw guide cylinder and cylinder plate are used with Stanley's smaller / midsize antique/vintage miter saw boxes, such as the No. 240, No. 242, No. 244, No. 246, & No 346. (used saws with a 4" depth from tooth to spine). There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs to the casting, only minor wear with very little rust. The diameter of the holes for the uprights is .45". The outside diameter of the cylindrical portion at the top is 1.5". This is item number 136 and 137 in the diagram in the last photo. No. 136 is the 2-piece saw guide cylinder, and No. 137 is the saw guide cylinder plate that keeps both parts together and allows the trip lever on the uprights to engage the cylinder assembly to hold the saw and cylinder assembly up. This one pre-dates the addition of the roller bearings that were added in 1934 and is proper for mitre boxes produced from about 1920 to 1933 during the "sweetheart" era. Minor deficiencies - owner's initials, nicks, etc. GOOD MINUS: 50-65% of original finish remaining. Has seen hard use, but remains serviceable. Scratches, nicks, dents, cracks, chips, improper replacement parts. FAIR: 25-50% of original finish remaining. Heavy wear and rust. Some parts are broken, missing, or improper - serious flaws.
